Slip & Fall Prevention in Food Services
In 2002 we identified a trend towards an increased # of slips and falls in our Food Services department. The slip resistant footwear that had been effective was worn out and the manager of the department was reluctant to replace it at approximately $100. per pair. We contacted a number of similar hospitals but did not find a solution that met our needs. The manager of our food services department sourced out a line of slip resistant footwear "Shoes for Crews" at a food services convention and new slip resistant overboots were purchased from this company for approximately $30./pr.
